Asking Your Questions

1. Type Your Question

Once the chat window is open, you'll see a text input field at the bottom. Simply type your question there.

2. Press Enter or Click Send

After typing, press the Enter key on your keyboard or click the Send button within the chat window to submit your question.

What to Ask

The El Jefe Chat is designed to understand a wide range of questions about your restaurant's operations. Here are some examples of what you can ask:

  • "How much did we sell yesterday?"
  • "¿Cuál fue mi taco más vendido esta semana?" (What was my best-selling taco this week?)
  • "How many new customers this month?"
  • "Which orders are still pending?"

Tips for Asking Questions

1. Be Specific

The more specific you are, the better El Jefe Chat can understand and answer your question. For example, instead of "Sales?", try "How much did we sell yesterday?" or "What were our total sales last Monday?". If you're asking about a date range, specify it clearly.

2. Follow-Up Questions

El Jefe Chat remembers the context of your conversation. If you ask "How many customers visited today?", you can follow up with "And how many of those were new?" or "What was their average order value?" without repeating the initial context.

3. Switch Languages Anytime

You can ask questions in either English or Spanish. El Jefe Chat will detect the language you use and respond in kind. You can switch between languages at any point during your conversation, and it will adapt.

4. Asking Questions is Safe

Rest assured, simply asking a question in El Jefe Chat will never change anything in your Tacoter account or restaurant operations. It's purely for information retrieval. If El Jefe Chat proposes a change (like updating a menu item or sending a message), it will always show you a preview card first. You'll need to explicitly press Confirm for any action to take place. If you don't confirm, the preview expires after 15 minutes, and nothing happens.

5. Brief Unavailability

Occasionally, the advanced AI features of El Jefe Chat might be briefly unavailable. During these rare times, it will still be able to answer common questions with simpler, built-in responses, ensuring you always get some level of assistance.

Understanding Actions

Remember, El Jefe Chat can do more than just answer questions. If you ask it to perform a task (like "Update my opening hours" or "Launch a marketing campaign"), it will first present a "preview card" detailing the proposed change.

  • You must click Confirm for any changes to take effect.
  • Unconfirmed previews expire after 15 minutes.
  • Most changes made via El Jefe Chat can be undone within 24 hours directly from the action card in your dashboard.
  • Please note: Campaign drafts and job listings are not undone this way; you'll need to review or delete them in the dashboard yourself.
  • For bulk actions, El Jefe Chat will list every individual change (up to 500 items) for your approval. Bulk undo for these actions is all-or-nothing – it will revert all items in that specific bulk action.

El Jefe Chat is your reactive assistant, ready when you have a question or need to get something done quickly. For your proactive daily reports, don't forget about the El Jefe Morning Brief!
