Multi-Step Workflows
Multi-Step Workflows
Running a busy restaurant means you're constantly juggling multiple tasks, from updating your menu to planning promotions. Tacoter's multi-step workflows, powered by El Jefe Chat, are designed to simplify these complex operations, breaking them down into manageable, easy-to-confirm steps. Think of it as having an intelligent assistant guiding you through bigger tasks, ensuring nothing is missed.
What are Multi-Step Workflows?
Multi-step workflows are how El Jefe Chat helps you tackle bigger projects. Instead of just doing one thing, El Jefe can break down a larger request, like "run a win-back campaign for customers who haven't ordered in a while," into a series of smaller, sequential steps. You review and confirm each step as it comes, giving you full control and visibility.
Key benefits:
- Structured Approach: El Jefe guides you through complex tasks, making sure you hit all the necessary points.
- Full Control: You approve each step individually. Nothing happens without your explicit confirmation.
- Flexibility: You can pause or stop a workflow at any point if your priorities change.
- Drafts, Not Final: For things like campaigns, El Jefe provides drafts for you to review and fine-tune before they go live.
How to Start a Multi-Step Workflow
To begin a multi-step workflow, simply open El Jefe Chat and ask it to perform a task that requires multiple steps.
- Sign In: Go to tacoter.com/signin and sign in to your Tacoter account.
- Open El Jefe Chat: From your Dashboard (tacoter.com/dashboard), click the chat icon at the bottom right corner of the screen. This will open the El Jefe Chat window.
- Ask for a Workflow: Type your request into the chat. Be specific about what you want to achieve.
- Example requests for multi-step workflows:
- "Run a win-back campaign for customers who haven't ordered in a while."
- "Create a new menu category with items."
- "Prepare a holiday promotion for Cinco de Mayo."
- "Run an inventory check for tortillas and avocados."
- El Jefe's Response: El Jefe will recognize that your request involves multiple steps and will outline the first step or ask for more details to start.
Navigating a Multi-Step Workflow
Once El Jefe initiates a workflow, it will present each step to you as a preview card.
- Review the First Step: El Jefe will present the first proposed action as a preview card. This card will clearly describe what El Jefe intends to do.
- Example (Win-back campaign): El Jefe might first propose "Draft email message for inactive customers."
- Confirm or Stop:
- If you're happy with the proposed action, click the Confirm button on the preview card. El Jefe will then execute that step.
- If you wish to stop the entire workflow at any point, click the Stop button. You can always restart a similar workflow later.
- Remember, unconfirmed previews expire after 15 minutes.
- Review Subsequent Steps: After you confirm a step, El Jefe will typically present the next logical step in the workflow.
- Example (Win-back campaign, after confirming email draft): El Jefe might then propose "Select target audience for campaign (customers inactive for 60+ days)."
- Campaign Drafts: For workflows like promotions or win-back campaigns, El Jefe will produce drafts. These drafts will be accessible from your Dashboard for review and editing. El Jefe will notify you when a draft is ready and where to find it. Campaigns are not run until you finalize them in the Dashboard.
- Note: Campaign drafts, once created, are not undone via action cards. You'll need to review or delete them directly in the Dashboard.
- Completion: El Jefe will inform you when the workflow is complete. Some workflows may have an open-ended "review" step, prompting you to go to the Dashboard to finalize things like menu items or campaign drafts.
What Happens If I Stop a Workflow?
If you click Stop at any point, the current workflow will end. Any steps you've already confirmed will have been executed (or drafts created), but no further actions will be taken. You can always start a new workflow with El Jefe whenever you're ready.
Multi-step workflows are here to make your life easier, helping you manage complex tasks with confidence and precision.
