Adding Menu Items

Running a taqueria means you're always on the go, and we know your menu is the heart of your business. This guide will walk you through adding new items to your online menu quickly and easily with Tacoter, so your customers can always see your latest and greatest creations.

Step-by-Step: Adding a New Menu Item

Let's get your delicious new taco, burrito, or aguas frescas online! It's a straightforward process.

1. Log In to Your Tacoter Dashboard First, open your web browser and go to your Tacoter dashboard. Use the email and password you set up when you joined us.

2. Navigate to the Menu Section Once logged in, look for the main navigation on the left side of your screen. Click on Menu. This is where you manage all your offerings.
3. Choose a Category Your menu is organized into categories (like "Tacos," "Burritos," "Sides," "Drinks"). Find the category where your new item belongs and click on it. For example, if you're adding a new special taco, click the "Tacos" category. If you need a new category, you can add that first!
4. Add a New Item Inside your chosen category, you'll see a button, usually labeled something like Add New Item or a plus sign. Click it to start creating your new menu entry.

5. Fill in the Item Details Now it's time to describe your masterpiece!
6. Name: Give your item a clear and enticing name (e.g., "Carne Asada Taco," "Horchata," "Elotes").
7. Description: Tell your customers what makes this item special. Don't worry if writing isn't your thing – Tacoter can help! There's an option to let our AI draft a description for you based on the name. Just review it and make any tweaks.
8. Price: Enter the price for your item.
9. Photo: A picture is worth a thousand words (and often leads to more sales!). Upload a high-quality photo of your item. Make sure it looks delicious!
10. Dietary Notes: This is super important for many customers. Add any relevant dietary information like "Vegetarian," "Gluten-Free," "Spicy," or common allergens if applicable.

6. Save Your Item Once all the details are filled in and look good, click the Save or Add Item button. And that's it! Your new item will instantly appear on your online menu for customers to see and order.

Editing or Deleting Menu Items

Things change, and so can your menu!

• To Edit: Go back to the Menu section, select the category, and click on the item you wish to change. You'll see the same detail fields as when you added it. Make your updates and click Save.
• To Delete: If an item is no longer available, select it from its category, and you'll find a Delete button. Confirm your choice, and it will be removed from your online menu.

Tips

• Keep Descriptions Punchy: Even with AI help, make sure descriptions are appetizing and to the point.
• High-Quality Photos: Good photos make your food look irresistible. Use natural light if possible!
• Regular Updates: Check your menu regularly. Is everything accurate? Are prices correct?
• Seasonal Specials: Don't be afraid to add limited-time offers or seasonal specials to keep your menu fresh and exciting.
