Posting a Job
Posting a Job
Finding the right team members is key to your restaurant's success, and Tacoter makes it easy to connect with great talent. This guide will walk you through creating a job listing that stands out.
1. Navigating to the Jobs Dashboard
First things first, let's get you to the right place.
- Sign in to your Tacoter account at tacoter.com/signin.
- Once logged in, you'll land on your Dashboard.
- Click on Jobs in the left-hand navigation menu or go directly to tacoter.com/dashboard/jobs. This is your central hub for all job postings. [[screenshot: Jobs Dashboard overview]]
2. Creating a New Job Posting
You have two main ways to start a new job post: manually or with the help of El Jefe Chat.
Option A: Manual Job Creation
- On the Jobs dashboard, click the + New Job button. [[screenshot: New Job button on Jobs dashboard]]
- Fill in the essential details:
- Job Title: What is the position called? (e.g., "Line Cook", "Server", "Dishwasher").
- Role: Select the primary role from the dropdown. This helps categorize your job.
- Pay: Enter the compensation details.
- AI Wage Benchmarks: As you enter the role, you'll see a helpful suggestion of typical local pay for this role. This can guide your offer.
- Schedule: Specify if it's full-time, part-time, temporary, etc.
- Description: This is where you describe the job duties, qualifications, and what makes working at your restaurant great.
- AI Job Description Writer: Stuck for words? Click the AI Job Description Writer button. It can draft a compelling description for you based on the title and role you've entered. You can then edit and refine it to match your restaurant's unique culture.
- Click Save Draft periodically to save your progress.
Option B: Using El Jefe Chat
For a quicker start, let El Jefe Chat do the heavy lifting.
- Click the chat icon at the bottom right of any Dashboard page to open El Jefe Chat.
- Type a request like "Draft a job listing for a part-time server" or "I need a job post for a kitchen manager."
- El Jefe Chat will present a preview card with a drafted job listing.
- Review the details in the preview. If you're happy, click Confirm. If not, you can ask El Jefe Chat to revise it or simply close the preview and create it manually.
- After confirming, the new job listing will appear in your Jobs dashboard. You can then edit it further as needed. Remember, unconfirmed previews expire after 15 minutes.
3. Reviewing and Publishing Your Job
Before your job goes live, Tacoter helps ensure it's polished and ready.
- Every time you click Save Draft or complete an El Jefe Chat creation, the AI Job Posting Quality Check runs automatically.
- Warnings: These are suggestions for improvement that you can fix at your convenience (e.g., "Consider adding more details to the responsibilities section"). Your job can still go live with warnings.
- Blockers: These are critical issues that must be fixed before your job can go live (e.g., "Job Title is missing"). You won't be able to activate the job until all blockers are resolved.
- Once all blockers are clear and you're happy with the listing, change the job's status to Active to publish it.
4. Managing Your Live Job Posting
Once active, your job will appear on the public job board at tacoter.com/jobs.
- Spanish Version: Tacoter automatically creates a Spanish version of your job posting at tacoter.com/empleos. You can access and edit or re-translate this Spanish version from the job editing screen if you wish to fine-tune it.
- Job Statuses: You can manage your job's visibility using these statuses:
- Active: The job is live and accepting applications.
- Paused: The job is temporarily hidden from the public board. You can reactivate it later.
- Filled: You've hired someone for this position. The job is no longer public.
- Expired: The job has reached its designated end date and is no longer public.
- Editing: You can edit your job at any time. Simply open the job from your Jobs dashboard, make your changes, and Save. The AI Job Posting Quality Check will run again.
Remember, campaign drafts and job listings are not undone by the general undo feature. Review or delete them directly in the dashboard.
