Printing Order Tickets
Managing your kitchen orders efficiently is key to keeping your customers happy and your taqueria running smoothly. This guide will walk you through printing order tickets directly from Tacoter so your kitchen staff always knows what to make.
How to Print an Order Ticket
When a new order comes in, you’ll see it pop up in your Tacoter dashboard. Here’s how to get it from your screen to your printer:
- Go to your Tacoter Dashboard: Log in to your Tacoter account on your computer or tablet. This is where you manage all your orders.
- Find the Order You Want to Print: Look for the order you need to send to the kitchen. New orders usually appear at the top or are highlighted.
- Open the Order Details: Click or tap on the specific order to open its full details. This view shows you everything from what was ordered to customer notes. [[screenshot: order details view showing customer information and ordered items]]
- Find the Print Option: Once you're in the order details, look for a "Print" button or icon. It might look like a small printer symbol or simply say "Print Ticket." This option is usually easy to spot near the top or bottom of the order details. [[screenshot: highlighted "Print Ticket" button within an order's details]]
- Use Your Browser's Print Dialog: Clicking "Print" will open your computer or tablet's standard print window (sometimes called a "print dialog box"). This isn't part of Tacoter itself, but your device asking you how you want to print.
- Select Your Printer: In the print window, you'll see a list of available printers. Choose the receipt printer that's connected to your computer or tablet.
- Tip: Make sure your printer is turned on and has paper!
- Confirm and Print: Once your printer is selected, click the "Print" button in the print dialog box. Your order ticket should then be sent to your chosen printer. [[screenshot: example of a browser's print dialog box with printer selection highlighted]]
And that's it! A physical ticket will emerge from your printer, ready for your kitchen staff.
Tips for Your Printer Setup
- Connect Your Printer First: Before you try to print from Tacoter, make sure your receipt printer is already set up and connected to your computer or tablet. This usually involves plugging it in and installing any necessary software (drivers) if your computer asks for them.
- Test Your Printer: It’s a good idea to test your printer by printing something simple from another application (like a document or a webpage) to ensure it’s working correctly with your device.
- Browser Settings: Sometimes, your web browser (like Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge) might have its own print settings. Generally, the default settings work fine, but if tickets look strange, you might need to adjust "margins" or "scale" in your browser's print options.
- Wireless Printers: If you're using a wireless printer, ensure both your computer/tablet and the printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Receipt Printer Compatibility: Tacoter works with most receipt printers that are compatible with your computer or tablet. As long as your device can see and print to the printer, Tacoter can send the order info to it.
