Running a taqueria keeps you busy, and making sure your customers know when you're open is super important! This guide will walk you through how to easily update your business hours on Tacoter, so your online ordering site, chatbot, and phone/text ordering are always showing the correct times.

Why Keeping Your Hours Up-to-Date Matters

Your business hours are front and center for your customers. When they're looking to order their favorite tacos, they rely on accurate information. Updating your hours on Tacoter ensures a smooth experience for everyone:

  • Your Online Ordering Site: Customers see your current open and close times.
  • The Tacoter Chatbot: If customers ask about hours, the chatbot gives them the right info.
  • Phone and Text Ordering: Our system uses your set hours to guide customers.

Let's make sure your customers always know when they can get their taco fix!

How to Update Your Regular Business Hours

Setting your standard weekly hours is quick and easy.

  1. Log In to Your Tacoter Dashboard: Head over to your familiar dashboard. This is your control center for everything. [[screenshot: Tacoter Dashboard home screen]]
  2. Go to Settings: On the left-hand menu of your dashboard, you'll see a navigation list. Click on Settings. This is where all your important business details live.
  3. Find Business Hours: Within the Settings section, look for the area dedicated to Business Hours. You'll see a list of days of the week.
  4. Set Your Open and Close Times:
  5. For each day you are open, click on the dropdown menus or enter the times to set your Open Time and Close Time.
  6. For example, if you open at 11:00 AM and close at 9:00 PM, select those times for each day you operate.
  7. Mark Days Closed: If your taqueria is closed on a particular day (like Mondays), simply check the Closed box next to that day. This will clearly show customers you're not open for business then.
  8. Save Your Changes: Once you've set all your hours for the week, make sure to click the Save Changes button, usually found at the bottom of the section. This makes your new hours live!

Updating Hours for Holidays or Special Events

Sometimes you might have special hours for holidays, a private event, or even a short break. Tacoter makes it simple to set these temporary changes without messing up your regular schedule.

  1. Access Holiday Hours: In the same Business Hours section within Settings, you'll find an option to Update for Holidays or "Special Hours." Click on this.
  2. Select the Date: You'll be prompted to choose the specific date (or range of dates) for which you want to change your hours.
  3. Set Special Open/Close Times or Mark as Closed:
  4. Enter the new open and close times for that specific day.
  5. Or, if you're closed for the entire day, simply mark that specific date as Closed.
  6. Confirm and Save: Review your special hours for the holiday or event, and then click Save to apply them. These special hours will override your regular hours just for the dates you selected. Once the special date passes, your regular hours will automatically resume.

Tips

  • Double-Check: Always take a moment to review your hours after saving them. You can even visit your own online ordering site to see them live!
  • Communicate Changes: For significant changes (like closing for a full week), consider a quick post on social media to let your most loyal customers know.
  • Plan Ahead: For holidays like Christmas or New Year's, update your hours a week or two in advance so customers can plan their orders.
  • Don't Forget Lunch/Dinner Breaks: If you close between lunch and dinner service, you can set two separate open/close windows for that day, or just set your full operating hours.

Keeping your business hours accurate is a small task that makes a big difference in customer satisfaction. You got this!
