Reviewing Applicants
Reviewing Applicants
Managing job applicants is a breeze with Tacoter! This guide will walk you through reviewing new candidates, tracking their progress, and making hiring decisions efficiently.
Accessing Your Applicants
When you post a job with Tacoter, all applications land directly in your dashboard, ready for your review.
- Sign In to Tacoter: Open your web browser and go to tacoter.com/signin. Enter your credentials to log in.
- Need to switch to Spanish? You can access your dashboard directly at tacoter.com/panel.
- Navigate to Your Dashboard: Once logged in, you'll be taken to your Dashboard. If you're not automatically redirected, you can always go to tacoter.com/dashboard.
- Open the Jobs Section: On your Dashboard, find and click on the Jobs section. This is where all your active and past job postings are listed. [[screenshot: Dashboard showing the 'Jobs' section highlighted]]
- Select a Job Posting: From the list of job postings, click on the title of the specific job you want to review applicants for. For example, if you posted for a "Line Cook," click on "Line Cook." This will open the job details page, showing all applicants for that position. Newest applicants will always appear at the top, so you can see fresh applications first!
Reviewing Candidate Information
Once you're on the job's applicant page, you'll see a list of all candidates who have applied.
- Quick Scan with AI Candidate Summaries: For each applicant, you'll immediately see their AI Candidate Summary. This is a short, helpful summary of their experience and qualifications, generated by our AI to give you a quick overview without needing to open every resume. It's a great way to quickly prioritize who to look at first.
- View the Resume: Many applicants will attach a resume (usually a PDF). To view the full resume, simply click on the applicant's name or the View Resume button.
- Good to know: Even if an applicant decides to delete their resume from our system later, you'll always keep your copy safely stored with their application.
Managing Applicant Statuses
Keeping track of where each applicant is in your hiring process is crucial. Tacoter makes this simple with clear status options.
- Change an Applicant's Status: Next to each applicant's name, you'll see their current status. Click on the current status to open a dropdown menu. Choose from the following options to update their progress:
- New: This is the default status for all incoming applicants.
- Viewed: Once you've looked at their summary or resume, mark them as "Viewed."
- Shortlisted: These are the candidates you're seriously considering for an interview.
- Interview: Use this when you've scheduled or completed an interview with the candidate.
- Hired: Congratulations! You've found your next great team member.
- Rejected: For candidates who aren't the right fit for this role.
- Bulk Actions (Optional): If you have many applicants and want to change multiple statuses at once (e.g., mark a group as "Rejected"), you can use the Bulk Actions feature. This will present a detailed list of every individual change for your approval before it goes through. You can approve up to 500 items in a single bulk action. Remember, bulk undo is all-or-nothing, so review carefully!
Getting Assistance from El Jefe Chat
Got a quick question or need help making a change? Your AI assistant, El Jefe Chat, is always ready to help!
- Open El Jefe Chat: Look for the chat icon at the bottom right corner of any Dashboard page and click it.
- Ask a Question: Type your question or request. El Jefe Chat will respond in English or Spanish, depending on your preferred language setting.
- Confirm Changes: If El Jefe Chat suggests a change (like updating a job description or applicant status), it will show you a preview card. The change won't happen until you press Confirm. Unconfirmed previews will expire after 15 minutes.
- Undo Actions: Most changes made through El Jefe Chat or your dashboard can be undone within 24 hours from the action card. Just a heads up: campaign drafts and job listings are not undone – you'll need to review or delete them manually from your dashboard.
You're all set to expertly manage your job applicants and find the best talent for your restaurant!
