Batch Changes with Bulk Actions

Running a restaurant means juggling a lot, and sometimes you need to make widespread changes quickly. Whether it's updating prices across the board, adjusting inventory for a whole category, or marking items for a special promotion, Tacoter's Bulk Actions feature, powered by El Jefe Chat, is designed to save you time and effort. Instead of editing items one by one, you can tell El Jefe what you want to change, review the impact, and apply it all at once!

What are Bulk Actions?

Bulk Actions allow you to make the same type of change to multiple items in your Tacoter system simultaneously. You use simple language to tell El Jefe Chat what you want to do, and it intelligently identifies all relevant items. This could be anything from your menu items to inventory levels.

Imagine these scenarios:

• "Raise all taco prices by 10%"
• "Mark every drink as unavailable"
• "Sube 50 centavos a todas las quesadillas" (Raise all quesadilla prices by 50 cents)

El Jefe will find all the items that match your request (up to 500 items for a single bulk action) and show you exactly what will change.

How to Perform a Bulk Action

Ready to make your changes? Follow these simple steps:

1. Sign In to Tacoter: Open your web browser and go to tacoter.com/signin. Enter your credentials to access your Dashboard. tacoter.com/dashboard (Spanish: tacoter.com/panel)
2. Open El Jefe Chat: On any page within your Tacoter Dashboard, look for the chat icon located at the bottom right corner of your screen. Click on it to open El Jefe Chat. [[screenshot: El Jefe Chat icon]]
3. Tell El Jefe Your Request: In the chat window, type your request clearly and concisely. Think about what you want to change and what items it applies to.

El Jefe understands both English and Spanish, matching your preferred language.

4. Review the Proposed Changes: El Jefe will process your request and, within moments, present you with a preview card. This card will list every single item it found that matches your criteria (up to 500 items). For each item, you'll see the original value and the proposed new value. 5. Approve or Adjust the Changes:
6. Approve All: If everything looks good, you can proceed to the next step.
7. Adjust: If there are specific items you don't want to include in this bulk action, simply uncheck them from the list provided in the preview card. This gives you fine-tuned control even over broad actions.
8. Confirm the Bulk Action: Once you're satisfied with the list of changes, click the Confirm button on the preview card. Remember, these preview cards expire after 15 minutes if not confirmed, so don't wait too long! After you confirm, El Jefe will apply all the approved changes to your system.

Undoing a Bulk Action

Mistakes happen, or plans change! Tacoter makes it easy to revert a bulk action if needed.

1. Locate the Action Card: After confirming a bulk action, an action card will appear in your Dashboard or within El Jefe Chat (depending on context). This card records the action you just performed.
2. Initiate Undo: Within 24 hours of performing the bulk action, you can click the Undo option on the action card.
3. Confirm Undo: For bulk actions, the undo process is "all-or-nothing." El Jefe will first check to make sure no individual item from that bulk action has been changed manually after the bulk action was applied. If everything is clear, it will prompt you to confirm the undo. Upon confirmation, all items affected by the original bulk action will revert to their state just before that bulk action took place.

Please note: If any of the items included in the bulk action were manually changed after the bulk action was applied, the undo will not proceed. This is a safety measure to prevent accidentally overwriting new, intentional changes. You would then need to manually adjust those specific items if you still wish to revert them.

Bulk actions are a powerful way to manage your restaurant's operations efficiently. Use them to save time and keep your Tacoter system up-to-date with minimal fuss!
